A trough fixed under or along the eaves for draining rainwater from a roof.  These are usually formed of cast iron or PVC.  They channel rainwater to downpipes to carry it away from the roof.  It is important these are cleared of moss and debris regularly to prevent leaks and damage to other building elements.
