Flaunching

Shaped cement around the base of chimney pots, to keep the pot in place and so that rain will run off.  If the flaunching is cracked it can allow rainwater to penetrate into the chimney breast which can in turn cause damp internally.  Moss and vegetation should be cleared away regularly.
